The line retailed in the USA as Harlequin Presents And in Australia as Sexy Sensation __________________________
This is where I try to answer some of the Frequently Asked Questions about the line and where you can search for my books by line name.

What is Modern Heat?
Modern Heat is a brand new line launched by Mills & Boon in the UK in 2006. Originally taking the guise of NuTemptation then Mills & Boon Sensual Romance - it was eventually named Mills & Boon Modern Extra and was designed to replace the gap left in the market by the much loved Harlequin Temptation line which closed in 2005. (one of my favourite lines btw!)
How is it marketed?
Tagging this new incarnation onto the best selling
Mills & Boon Modern line in the UK and Ireland as
Modern Extra,
with two titles available at retail each month in the usual outlets, the line
proved a huge success with readers
After so much success it was logical that the line would then be tested in the USA and Canada. And with the Harlequin Presents line as the companies top-seller it was hoped a similar marketing strategy would prove exactly the launch the new line needed... So four titles went to the States in August 2007 as Promotional Presents in a mini-series called 'The Eligible Bachelors' (I was one with The Firefighter's Chosen Bride)
ALL FOUR of the books made it onto the Waldenbooks Best-Selling Romance List and outsold above and beyond the projected figures soooo....
As of January 2008 the books will be available at the usual retail outlets in the USA and Canada as Harlequin Presents with two titles on the shelf each and every month - how fantastic is that!!! Yep, and at the exact same time all Mills & Boon Modern Extra's in the UK & Ireland will change their name to Mills & Boon Modern Heat - a name which is pretty gosh darned appropriate we authors all feel!
The line is also being tried out in several of the overseas markets such as France, Italy and Germany ~ so watch out! You just never know where we might be next...
It's been a long and winding road...but we're worth it! Promise.
Where are the writer's from?
Part of the appeal of the line is its International Voice - with authors from the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and the United States. And a great many of those authors are brand spanking new!
And yes, before you all email me - they ARE ALWAYS looking for new authors for this and every other line edited out of the Mills & Boon London offices. Write a fabulous story and you too could be a Modern Heat author!
What is the line looking for from writer's? The books are 50 - 55,000 words long and according to the Guidelines on the Mills & Boon Website you simply: "Take an international city background that
vividly conveys the sophistication and buzz of cosmopolitan l These titles promise to deliver to the reader a feel-good experience, focusing on the kind of relationships that women between the ages of 18-35 aspire to. Young characters in affluent urban settings—either North American or international—meet, flirt, share experiences, have great, passionate sex and fall in love, finally making a commitment that will bind them together, forever. Though their stories are firmly based around emotional issues, other concerns—such as job and friendship—are also touched upon and resolved in an upbeat way."

Also the diversity in styles, locations, plots et all is very exciting I think. As is the Editorial Teams enthusiasm for the line and their open-mindedness to letting us try new things. I loved Harlequin Temptations long before I was a published author and as a writer I truly, truly love creating stories for Modern Heat
